Diagnosis is crucial.
In bladder dysfunction diagnosis is non-invasive.
A crucial component is a detailed medical history including onset and behaviour of symptoms. Specialized voiding questionnaires are useful. A record of fluid intake and voiding volumes measured over 48 hours is useful. The chart to the left outlines components of the diagnostic process including specialized tests.
Most commonly included components are: historu of symptoms, detailed description of voiding symptoms (urinary frequency, reports of bladder leakage during the daytime/nighttime0, uroflowmetry to assess bladder volume and flow rate , bladder ultrasound.
