I am Pediatric Pelvic  Health Therapist.  I work with children with variety of bowel and bladder dysfunctions.  I work collaboratively with Pediatricians and Pediatric Specialists in Urology and Gastroenterology.  If your child's doctor has recommended specialized Physiotherapy for your child’s s bowel and bladder dysfunction we may be a good fit to work together,

In view of the emotional distress these disorders cause, they should be fully evaluated and treated in affected children from the age of 5 onward. 

Normal maturation of the lower urinary tract (LUT) meaning bladder and associated structures happens for the majority of children before the age of 5.
However, in 17-22% of children bladder dysfunction persists beyond the age of 5.
In these, children assessment and treatment is important.

Urotherapy is conservative, non-surgical and non-pharmacological treatment based on the principles of cognitive behavioural therapy including behaviour plans, motivational enhancement and cognitive restructuring.

Biofeedback

EMG (Electromyographic) Biofeedback is a non-invasive way to assess our muscle strength and endurance.

In our biofeedback lab we place surface electrodes (essentially really "sticky" stickers) onto the skin in the vicinity of the pelvic  floor muscles and assess your child's ability to activate or "turn-on" his/her pelvic floor.  Sometimes your child's pelvic floor
